Emily Marie Gray is here

Happy New Year to all…………….Yea it has been a long time since I have added to our BLOG. There have been many reasons to make an entry, and a little laziness on my part that has interfered with my actually putting in the effort. But there are some things that you just have to do and today is one of those things. We are actually a couple days into the Big Event, but first time to actually sit down and write and reflect…Oh yea, The Big Event>>>>>>>>>Emily Marie Gray was born on Dec. 29, 2008 at 1015am. Born at the Martha Jefferson Hospital, weighing in at 7 pounds even and 19.5 inches long. Sandy blond/brown hair, Holly’s nose and Micah”s lips. Seems to have inherited Dooder’s (that would be me) characteristic of keeping one eye open while the other stays closed, and Grandma’s need to start getting wound up at the time she should be going to bed for the night. Holly just told me that Emily also has my habit of sneezing 3 times every time she sneezes. The day Emily was born The Gray Family had plenty of family support in coming to welcome Emily. The list of visitors was long. Of course Kim and I were there all day, Buck and Jeannie were there on and off, Edith and Gail came to visit, Jessie was there and had a really hard time putting Emily down. She said it made her more impatient for her baby to get here. Have pictures below of here holding Emily…she looks like she was made for Motherhood, locked and loaded and ready to go. Then Jacob and Tiff came up that evening. I thought Tiff would crumble when she looked at Emily. One minute she is smiling and the next sobbing with affection and love for the new girl in the family. Wanda and Jo came to get in there first view and holding of Emily and along with the rest of us got to fill their eyes with tears of joy. And the day was full of phone calls for all those who could not get off work or were far away. Holly did great with having a C-Section. She was really nervous and anxious and rightfully so, but did a great job and looked pretty good when all was done. She was one happy Mom, she has prepared her entire life for that moment. And even though there will be challenging times ahead, as they are already finding out, I know she and Micah will be awesome parents. They are both armed with the level of parental love needed to make the sacrifices needed to raise a child, and they both understand the eternal purpose of life and family. Kim and I are so excited about having a grandchild so close to home with us and the excitement of another on the way in March. WE are indeed blessed and with each passing day finding new and profound blessings that enrich our understanding. AS I get older and older I am coming full circle in understanding the importance of family, and so thankful for all my children, their children, and those choice individuals that are soon to join our family. Truly Kim and I are Blessed, and express our gratitude to our Father in Heaven for his great love for us. Hope you enjoy the pictures, and hope each of you can and will understand the richness of that which we all enjoy in this life….kjb
